Is the Church of Christ Salvation System Biblical?

Bottom line: the traditional Church of Christ salvation system tested in this library is biblically false at the point where it teaches that a person who has believed on Jesus Christ still lacks saving remission, justification, life, or acceptance until water baptism is performed for the required purpose. Local Churches of Christ are not identical, so this library tests actual claims rather than condemning everyone who uses the label. The central water-as-saving-boundary proposition fails the direct promise texts and the inspired Cornelius chronology.

WHY THE CORE SALVATION CLAIM FAILS

1. Direct promises give life to the believer.John 3:16; 5:24; 6:47; Acts 13:39; Romans 4:5.

2. Cornelius breaks an absolute water-first rule.Acts 10:43–48; Acts 11; Acts 15:7–11.

3. The direct salvation question is answered with belief.Acts 16:30–31; baptism follows promptly in verse 33.

4. Paul can distinguish gospel preaching from baptizing.1 Corinthians 1:17; the gospel itself is stated in 1 Corinthians 15:1–4.

5. “Right-reason baptism” adds a condition Acts 19 does not state.John's preparatory baptism is not the same situation as a Christian believer baptized without a regeneration theory.

6. CENI can reason validly, but an inference must actually be necessary.A possible integration cannot be promoted into an eternal-life condition.

WHAT SHOULD BE GRANTED

Many Church of Christ teachings are serious attempts to obey Scripture. Believer baptism, prompt baptism, congregational accountability, Bible authority, Christian holiness, and a rejection of casual discipleship are not the problem. The real issue is the extra saving mechanism added to those truths.

THE TEST

If the system says the believer still lacks the saving possession until water, ask for the verse that states that exact proposition. Then test the proposed verse against the direct possession texts and the Cornelius chronology.
